Jobber is a field service management platform used by thousands of HVAC contractors. It handles scheduling, dispatching, quoting, invoicing, and client communications. For HVAC businesses managing workflow from lead to payment, Jobber is a strong choice.
Where Jobber has limitations is depth of field documentation. Jobber lets technicians add photos and notes to a job, but it doesn't require photos for specific tasks, doesn't do GPS-tagged photo sequences for equipment surveys, doesn't generate structured inspection checklists with pass/fail/photo enforcement, and doesn't support 3D scanning of mechanical spaces.
Manifold is not a replacement for Jobber — it's the field documentation layer that runs alongside it. Most HVAC contractors who use both keep Jobber for scheduling and billing and run Manifold on the phone for all job-site documentation.
Manifold lets you build custom inspection and commissioning checklists where every item can require a photo before it's marked complete. A tech can't check off "refrigerant charge verified" without attaching a photo of the gauges. Jobber doesn't offer this level of enforcement at the item level.
For rooftop units, chillers, AHUs, or mechanical rooms, Manifold creates an organised, sequential photo log with notes attached to each unit. Output is a GPS-tagged, timestamped PDF report — not a list of photos with job numbers.
Any HVAC technician can walk a mechanical room with their phone and get a measurable 3D model. Pull dimensions without going back to site. Spec replacement equipment from your desk. Works on any iOS or Android phone. Jobber has no equivalent.
Manifold works fully offline. Basements, parkades, and rooftops with no signal are not a problem.
When a tech arrives on a job, they open Jobber to see job details and previous notes. They open Manifold to run the equipment survey or inspection checklist. Documentation happens in Manifold, GPS-tagged and structured. At the end of the job, they generate the PDF in Manifold and attach the link to the Jobber job note.
