If you've decided to cancel CompanyCam, this guide walks you through exactly how to do it — including the important step of exporting your project photos before your subscription ends.
How to cancel CompanyCam: step by step
- Log in to CompanyCam at companycam.com on a desktop browser. Cancellation isn't available through the mobile app.
- Go to Settings — click your profile icon in the top right corner, then select Settings.
- Select Billing from the left sidebar menu.
- Click "Cancel Subscription" or "Cancel Plan" — the exact wording may vary depending on your plan.
- Follow the cancellation prompts. CompanyCam may offer a downgrade or pause option before completing the cancellation. If you want to fully cancel, continue through the prompts.
- Confirm cancellation. You should receive a confirmation email. Keep this for your records.
Your account and data remain accessible until the end of your current billing period.
How to export your photos before cancelling
This is the most important step and the one most people forget until after they've cancelled. Export your data before your subscription ends, not after.
- In CompanyCam, go to Settings → Account
- Look for an Export Data or Download Photos option
- Request a full export of all project photos
- Wait for the export email — for large accounts this can take several hours
- Download the ZIP file and store it somewhere safe before your access ends
Note: CompanyCam exports the photos themselves but metadata (annotations, report content, project structure) may not transfer cleanly to another platform. Plan for some manual reorganisation of older projects.
What if I'm on an annual plan?
If you're on an annual CompanyCam plan, you may not receive a refund for the unused portion. Check your original subscription terms or contact CompanyCam support directly to ask about prorated refunds before cancelling.
Can I pause instead of cancel?
CompanyCam may offer a subscription pause option in some markets. If you're going through a slow season rather than switching permanently, ask their support team about pause options before cancelling outright.
What to use instead of CompanyCam
If you're cancelling because of the seat minimums, the pricing, or the lack of 3D scanning on Android, Manifold is the most direct alternative.
Manifold does everything CompanyCam does for job site photo documentation — GPS-tagged photos, project timelines, client sharing, PDF reports — and adds features CompanyCam doesn't offer on standard plans:
- Orbit Measure — video-based 3D scanning on any iOS or Android phone. Walk a space for 60 seconds and get a measurable 3D model you can pull dimensions from remotely.
- Floor Plan Scan — auto-generated dimensioned floor plans on iPhone 12 Pro or newer.
- No seat minimums — pay for your actual team size. One user pays $16-24/month, not $79.
- Offline-ready — works on job sites with no signal and syncs when you're back in range.
How to migrate from CompanyCam to Manifold
- Export your CompanyCam photos (steps above)
- Start a free Manifold trial — no credit card required
- Set up your first project and run one active job on Manifold in parallel with CompanyCam
- Once you're comfortable, import your old project photos into Manifold's project structure
- Cancel CompanyCam at the end of your billing period
Running both in parallel for 2-4 weeks before cancelling lets your crew get comfortable without any risk of losing continuity on active jobs.
